Q: What more should I know about the Mountain Goat Lodge?

A: The Mountain Goat Lodge is bed and breakfast located on 20 acres of rolling pastures with resident goats roaming the meadows. The dairy goats on the property provide the milk, cheese and yogurt for guests’ breakfasts. Set at the foot of the Sawatch Mountain Range in central Colorado, just 8 miles from historic Salida, each room has its own balcony and mountain views.

Q: When will I be able to book my stay at the Mountain Goat Lodge?

A: We will be reaching registered guests in February to understand more about accommodation preferences. Our hospitality coordination team will be handling rooming assignments based on the preferences you share with us.

Q: What should I expect to pay for my stay during the retreat?

A: Nightly room rates will vary between $120-$230 based on room size, style and occupancy. Registered guests will be contacted in mid-February, at which time we’ll learn about any accommodations preferences you have.

Q: Are all of my meals included in the retreat fee?

A: Yes; meal expenses are covered in your retreat fee. Each full day of the retreat, (Thursday, May 17 – Saturday, May 19) guests will be provided a light breakfast and light lunch. Dinners are also included and depending on the day, will be served either on or off-site.

Q: What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

A: Prior to your arrival in May, a member of our hospitality coordination team will contact you to learn about any food allergies or dietary restrictions you might have. We will do our best to accommodate each of our guests’ dietary needs.


Q: Will transportation from Denver to the retreat facility be provided?

A: No. Guests will be responsible for their own transportation to and from our retreat location. If you are visiting us from out of state, please watch this page for more information to come on local transportation suggestions.

Q: If I am flying into Denver specifically to attend this retreat, will transportation from the airport to the retreat facility be arranged for me?

A: No. Guests will be responsible for their own transportation to and from our retreat location. Similarly, guests traveling from out of state will be responsible for arranging their own transportation accommodations. If you are visiting us from out of state, please visit here to begin planning for your transportation needs.

Retreat Scheduling

Q: What time will I need to arrive to the retreat?

A: Guests are to arrive to the Mountain Goat Lodge by Wednesday, May 16. Check in will begin starting at 3pm that afternoon. Please plan your arrival time to allow for joining us for the Retreat Commencement Dinner, which will be held at the Mountain Goat Lodge at 6pm on Wednesday, May 16.

Q: When does the retreat end?

A: Our programming will conclude the evening of Saturday, May 19. Accommodations will include the night’s stay of Saturday, May 19. Check out is no later than 10am on Sunday, May 20. If you’re able to do so, we invite you to join us for a Goodbye Breakfast the morning of Sunday, May 20.

A: No. Our programming will begin each day, (Thursday-Saturday) with a guided yoga session at 7:30am. We will then convene for a light breakfast as we begin the facilitated portion of the day. We will conclude no later than 1:30pm each day, and will reconvene for dinner each night by 5:45pm.

Q: What will our schedule be like each day?

A: On Wednesday, May 16, we invite you to join us for a Commencement Dinner at 6pm. From Thursday to Saturday, we will begin each day with a guided yoga session at 7:30am. At 8:45am each morning, we will convene for a light breakfast as we begin the facilitated portion of the day. We will conclude no later than 1:30pm, and you’ll have the afternoon to rest, relax, romp with goats, or take advantage of any number of other activities on- or off-site. Each day, we’ll then reconvene for dinner by 5:45pm. Following dinner, we will participate in a gentle guided yoga session to conclude the day. While check out is on Sunday, May 20, there are no programmed events that day. However, we encourage you to join us for the Goodbye Breakfast that morning.

Q: How do you define ‘leader’ and how do I know I’m eligible to attend?

A: We’re all leaders in our life and many of us are in our work as well, whether or not we hold an executive title or C-suite role. If you are in a position of influence at your company, you’re considered a leader. If you’re questioning whether or not this retreat is an opportunity that is appropriate for you, please contact us to discuss.

Q: How can I communicate this retreat as a professional development opportunity to my company?

A: We encourage you to ask for your company to sponsor your position as a leader at this retreat. The primary purpose of this retreat is for intentional leaders to be guided through how to expand their capacity and ignite their authentic power. We believe your participation will bring as much benefit to your company and your team as it will to you. Therefore, it should be considered a professional development opportunity. Yoga Preparation

Q: How much yoga will there be during the retreat?

A: All retreat guests will participate in two guided yoga sessions per day, (Thursday – Saturday). These sessions will range in style, from Vinyasa Flow to still, guided meditation.

Q: How strenuous will the yoga be?

A: Each of the guided yoga sessions will offer pose variations that accommodate various levels of practitioner. In some sessions or at points in the session, we may invite you to ‘stretch’ beyond your typical limits. However, we will expect you to use your intuition and judgment as to how deeply you want to move into any pose during any of our guided sessions. Props will also be available to assist practitioners in feeling supported through their practice.

Q: Do I need to bring my own yoga mat and props?

A: As a guest, you will need to provide your own mat. We will, however, have props such as straps, blocks and bolsters for use, as desired.

Q: Do I need to participate in all of the yoga sessions?

A: Participating in mindful movement is an important component to the retreat, and taking the opportunity to more deeply foster your individual mind-body connection will be one method to your embodying the new or revelatory learning that come to you during our facilitated time together. However, participation in the yoga sessions in your choice.

Q: What if I have injuries?

A: If this is the case, please communicate your injury to our certified yoga instructor, once on-site and before our first guided session together. Depending upon the severity of your injury, our instructor may be able to offer you pose variations that limit any further harm, pain or risk to you. If you suffer an injury before May and should it impact your ability to get onto your mat, please contact us to discuss your options.

All About the Goats

Q: What’s with the goats?

A: The retreat will be held at the Mountain Goat Lodge in beautiful Salida, Colorado. The facility doesn’t just have ‘goat’ in the name. There are actually (friendly) goats on the property. We selected this location after having visited in in the spring of 2017, and while there, our intuition told us it was the right place for our May gathering. We later recognized how well the goat represented our purpose for creating this event … The goat represents a time to begin new endeavors, and the need to take time and plan the course. The goat reminds us to look ahead to be appropriately surefooted along this course. Perhaps its time to stretch and reach for new heights, and consider if our goals are high enough and what more we might deserve. This creature tells us to trust our own ability to land on our feet, have faith in ourselves and our abilities, and to move forward one step at a time.
